Upon invitation by Gakushuin University IISL President Kai-Uwe Schrogl visited Tokyo and exchanged views with the University President ARAKAWA Ichiro. Both presidents mentioned the importance of the Moot Court competition for the education of the next generation not only for the legal career but also for inter-disciplinary development. Since Gakushuin University is hosting the Moot Court round as a part of its “Inter-disciplinary and industry-academia collaborative program for education on expertise in space-related rule-making program”, the idea of promoting intercommunication among the multi-disciplines has been shared during the visit. The IISL President highly appreciated the efforts of Gakushuin University as a host to this largest regional round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition.

The President took this opportunity to join a panel discussion at the annual Symposium of Space Law Center of Keio University.
The President also visited the relevant entities including the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the main sponsor to the program of Gakushuin University, the National Space Policy Headquarters of the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Ms. MIZUNO Motoko, member of the House of Councilors (as well as IISL member) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) for enhancing the awareness on the importance of the rule of law in outer space and of the activities of the Institute and its members.
The visit was arranged by Vice-President AOKI Setsuko, Member of the Board SATO Masahiko, as well as individual member KOZUKA Souichirou and Associate Regional Organizer of the A-P Round TAKEUCHI Yu.
