The 4th India Space Congress, organised by SIA-India, took place this week in Delhi at a time when India’s space sector is in remarkable strength and decisions are prepared, which will have far reaching effects.

This comprises most notably a self-confident and assertive space diplomacy and the setting up of a regulatory framework for a booming space industry with a vibrant start-up scene.

President of the IISL Kai-Uwe Schrogl, together with Vice President and most prominent and authoritative space law voice in India Ranjana Kaul, represented the IISL. On this occasion, the recent trends in the Indian space sector were supported by IISL through an MoU with SIA – An Association for Space Industry, exchanged at this occasion. A big thank you to the SIA leadership Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, Anil Prakash and Rajeev Gambhir their trust in IISL to be a partner on this trajectory.

Kai-Uwe Schrogl was invited to speak at the opening plenary and provided supporting perspectives from IISL’s side during the presentation of the ambitious Space Sustainability Declaration, prepared with Nabhah Foundation.

For the following editions of the India Space Congresses, SIA plans to entrust IISL with the organisation of specific space law tracks as element of the Congress programmes.
