IISL members participate in First International Conference on Lunar Search and Rescue

The First International Conference on Lunar Search and Rescue took place from 13 to 15 October 2022 in Hainan (China) in hybrid format. The Conference, co-organized by IAASS and BIT, was an important opportunity to discuss SAR related design as well as operational, legal, and organisational matters in case of emergencies on Moon missions. The Young Scholars Session at the 2022 IISL Colloquium on the Law of Outer Space, Paris

For fourteen years, the IISL Colloquium has been starting with the Nandasiri Jasentuliyana Young Scholars Session, where a specialist on space law provides a keynote lecture. This year, Prof. Armel Kerrest, an exceptional space law professor, gave this highlight lecture. Prof. Kerrest was followed by the presentations of young speakers. Launch of the African Space Leadership Institute

The launch of the African Space Leadership Institute took place on 4 October 2022, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of the dawn of the space age and launch of the first man-made satellite into outer space. IISL members Tare Brisibe, Peter Martinez, and Kai-Uwe Schrogl participated in the virtual launch event, and IISL President Kai-Uwe Schrogl delivered the keynote address. IISL Special event at IAC 2022: NASA-CSA-IISL special event on Update on the Artemis Accords

During IAC 2022 in Paris, IISL in cooperation with NASA and CSA hosted a special event on an update on the Artemis Accords.
