IISL at 2026 ECSL Summer Course on Space Law and Policy

The 34th ECSL Summer Course on Space Law and Policy took place from 31 August to 11 September 2026 at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Sport of Slovenia, bringing together participants from across Europe and beyond under the theme “Resilience for Sustainability.”

Over two weeks, participants explored current developments in space law and policy through lectures, discussions and practical activities, with contributions from leading experts and institutions including ESA, UNOOSA, academia and national authorities.

The programme also included visits to Center Noordung and the Slovenian Ministry of Defence, as well as a special visit from the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.

It was a rich two weeks of learning, exchange and discussion on the legal and policy challenges shaping the future of space activities.
